What “cookies” means here
Websites can use cookies and similar browser storage to remember information. Tirtle uses browser local storage for the choices described below. Hosting and sign-in services may also use essential cookies to keep your session secure.
Essential storage
Essential technologies support sign-in, security, service delivery, and remembering your cookie choice. Your saved learning and application records are stored with your signed-in account on the server; they do not depend on accepting optional preferences.

Optional preferences
If you enable optional preferences, Tirtle remembers the last main section you visited, such as Journeys or Progress. This is off until you choose to allow it. Declining it does not reduce access to practice, exams, or your application workspace.

Optional usage analytics
If you enable usage analytics, Tirtle records selected page visits, sign-in steps, Plus plan views and completed practice. A random browser identifier helps connect these steps so we can find confusing parts of the site. It is stored in the secure, HTTP-only __Host-tirtle-visitor cookie for up to 180 days. Usage events are kept for up to 90 days, with cleanup during service activity. These reports cover consenting browsers, not every visitor.
No form contents, application drafts, passwords or email addresses are sent in these usage events. There are no advertising trackers, heatmaps or session recordings in this release. Choosing Essential only leaves usage analytics off. Turning it off stops new optional collection and removes the browser identifier; it does not automatically erase events already collected. Contact us for a privacy request.
Change your mind anytime
Use Cookie choices in the footer to change preferences and usage analytics separately. Essential only turns both off and removes optional navigation storage and the analytics browser identifier. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser. Blocking essential storage may affect sign-in or cause the choice prompt to reappear.
