About this notice

This notice describes the information used by this version of the Tirtle website, including practice, exams, profiles, learning games, Community, billing, and the application workspace. For questions or privacy requests, contact hello@tirtle.com.

Learners age 13 and older

You must be at least 13 to use a Tirtle account, including Basic. Tirtle focuses on professional certification preparation and is not directed to children under 13. Learners under 18 need a parent or guardian’s permission. Our Terms set this minimum age. We do not ask for your birth date.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, including account-linked answers, test timing, scores, or study activity. Tirtle does not offer an under-13 account or a parental-consent enrollment process. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact hello@tirtle.com. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will stop the account’s use and delete the child’s personal information, subject to any legal obligation to retain it.

What you share with us

• Account and profile information: a sign-in identifier, email address, and name supplied by the sign-in service, plus the display name, character, exam goal, daily target, and motion preference you choose.
• Learning activity: responses, confidence choices, timing, completed sessions, rehearsal attempts, review flags, scores, Gems, and progress.
• Application information you choose to enter: education, courses and training hours, project dates, experience summaries, verification contacts, evidence notes, and application milestones.
• Messages you send: information included when you contact us by email or share feedback. Feedback sent from your study space is linked to your signed-in account and is visible only to authorized Tirtle staff. The separate public feedback form can be used without signing in.
• Service information: hosting and sign-in providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, and security or error logs to operate the service.

Keep application notes relevant. Don’t enter passwords, government identification numbers, confidential client material, or copies of identity documents. If you add a verifier’s details, make sure you have permission to use them for your application preparation. Document uploads are not part of this workspace.

Why the information is used

We use saved information to provide your account, preserve your work, calculate learning progress, operate timers, organize application records, personalize your study experience, respond to requests, and maintain the service. Practice results and readiness calculations are descriptive tools; they do not make certification or employment decisions.

With your separate permission, Tirtle collects basic usage events: page sections visited, sign-in steps, Plus plan views and completed practice. A random browser identifier connects these steps. Optional usage events do not include your name, email, answer text or application draft. We do not add advertising trackers, heatmaps or session recordings. Optional browser preferences and usage analytics are off until you allow them. See the cookie policy.

Your AI study buddy

The study buddy offers built-in guidance and optional AI coaching. When you request an AI reply, Tirtle sends your message, relevant question and response, available answer review, a limited recent conversation, and relevant profile or learning summaries to OpenAI to generate the reply. This can include your chosen name, study goal, and practice patterns. Application drafts and scratchpad notes are not sent to the AI provider. Do not put passwords, sensitive personal information, or confidential work into chat.

Chats are saved to your account for up to 30 days. Scratchpad notes are saved for up to 30 days after their last update. Expired records are removed during service activity and are no longer returned to you. Limited request, allowance, and assistance records may remain to protect the service, manage usage, and describe your learning progress. OpenAI processes information under its own service terms and privacy practices. AI replies can be wrong; check important information against trusted sources. You can turn the study buddy off in Profile Preferences or clear the current chat.

Where information goes

Your saved study and application records are stored by the website’s hosting service. Tirtle currently uses OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure, with Google sign-in managed through Supabase. Google and Supabase process basic identity information, such as your email address, name, and Google account identifier, to create and protect your Tirtle session. Tirtle does not receive your Google password or request Gmail or Drive access. Existing learners may continue to use ChatGPT sign-in; Google and ChatGPT study spaces are separate and are not automatically merged. Those providers process information needed to deliver and protect their services, under their own terms and privacy notices. This version does not send your application draft to PMI or to an AI text-generation service.

For Plus purchases sold through Link, Stripe acts as the merchant of record. Link handles payment details, applicable transaction tax, receipts, and payment support. Tirtle keeps the account link and subscription status needed to provide Plus access. Card details are entered with Stripe, not in Tirtle’s profile or application forms.

Tirtle does not sell your personal information through this website. Information may also need to be disclosed when legally required or to protect the service and its users. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own.

What you choose to share in Community

Joining Community is optional. Other signed-in learners can see the name saved under “What should Tirtle call you?”, your saved character, selected Tirtle moods or ready-made posts, post dates, and celebration totals. You choose whether to show your saved Gem total on the leaderboard or allow Gem posts. The board ranks shared Gem totals from all study activities. A game post can show its level, score, and whether you used help. Gem counts appear only in posts you choose to share or on the leaderboard when you opt in. PMP pass announcements wait for admin approval before they appear publicly or can be shared. Approval is a publishing review; Tirtle does not check your PMI credential.

Your chosen Profile name appears in Community. Your email, exam answers, and application draft stay private. Optional region, experience, industry, and study-goal choices stay private unless you turn on sharing in Profile. Community does not accept custom writing or uploads. It is shared with other learners, not a private company workspace. Paying for a learner does not create parent or manager access to their study records.

You can remove your own posts or leave Community. Leaving removes your posts and reactions and takes you off the Gems leaderboard; your saved game wins and study progress remain. Turning off Gem sharing removes your old Gem posts. Removed posts and reactions do not return if you rejoin or turn sharing back on.

Sharing a celebration card or caption outside Tirtle is your choice. Check its preview before saving or sharing it. The app you choose has its own privacy rules, and deleting a Tirtle post does not remove copies already shared elsewhere.

Keeping and protecting your work

Your account records are retained so you can return to your study history and drafts. Authorized staff can review account details and learning summaries to support learners and improve content. Routine management reports exclude private application narratives and verifier contact details. Security events record limited account identifiers, request patterns and errors; raw IP addresses, passwords and sign-in tokens are not stored in these application logs. Usage events and security alerts are kept for up to 90 days, and administrative action records for up to one year, with cleanup during service activity. Application entries can be edited or removed in the workspace. Hosting providers may retain operational logs or backups according to their own practices. For account-level retention or deletion questions, write to us.

Access to saved learner records is tied to the signed-in account. No online service can promise absolute security. Use a trusted device, keep your sign-in secure, and take care when downloading or sharing application exports, which may include information about you and your project contacts.

Communication and feedback

Profile Preferences lets you choose optional weekly Progress Snapshots and the monthly newsletter. These choices are saved to your account and start off. You can turn them off later. Optional email delivery may be unavailable during beta. Necessary account, privacy, security, and membership messages are separate from those optional choices.

Feedback is shared privately with our team. Feedback older than 90 days is removed during routine feedback activity. Sending feedback does not subscribe you to emails, cancel Plus, or delete your account.

Your choices and requests

You can update your profile, edit application records, export your application draft, and change optional storage choices through the footer. You can contact hello@tirtle.com to ask about access, correction, export, deletion, or a concern about your information. We may need to verify that a request relates to your account. Your rights can depend on where you live, and applicable law may give you additional rights or the right to raise a concern with a data protection authority.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the product changes; the effective date above identifies this version. Material changes to optional storage purposes will require a fresh choice.
